history
Spectrum Fine Cabinetry was founded in 1976 as a family business in suburban New York by Steven Nakash, an accomplished cabinetmaker with a vision: to assemble a team with unrivaled technical expertise, held to the highest production standards. Nakash’s vision was realized for many years through the output of a large, state-of-the-art production facility in Long Island. Steered by the founder’s commitment to excellence, in 2006 Spectrum shifted production to Pordenone, Italy, as demand increased for high-end finishes of European design.
Since that time, Spectrum become a leader and innovator in custom cabinetry and soon became the resource of choice for many of the best interior designers, builders, and developers in the US. Driven by their father’s passionate vision, Steven’s sons Brian and Michael joined the business to uphold the value of craftsmanship that Steven had established. While Brian manages New York projects, Michael expanded the family business to South Florida, determined to infuse Spectrum Fine Cabinetry’s unparalleled craftsmanship into the region’s most luxurious buildings. Their dedication to excellence and innovation has elevated the art of cabinetry, making a lasting impact on South Florida’s architectural landscape.

our sustainability
efforts
Sven’s gleaming, curved façade rises in Long Island City and reflects the heart of the neighborhood. Designed by Handel Architects, the tower’s 71 stories combine the beauty of clean design with remarkable environmental achievements. Sven is the tallest building in the US to achieve LEEDv4 Platinum Level Certification, the highest attainable level. Spectrum ensured all cabinets were made from no-added urea formaldehyde substrates, are free from harmful chemicals. Cabinets were independently tested for compliance with indoor air quality standards using the ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 Private Office method. All hardware were RoHS compliant, and the glues varnishes were Greenguard Gold Certified.
