Our Story
The Spectrum story began with Morris Weinstein, a man who poured his heart into manufacturing kitchens, not just as functional spaces, but as the centerpieces of family life. This passion for design was a gift he passed on to his son, who dedicated his career to the same art form.
The knowledge and passion for designing kitchens passed down through generations, couldn’t be contained any longer. In 1973, Steven Nakash the grandson of Morris Weinstein, fueled by this legacy, embarked on his journey. Euro Tech Industries, his brainchild, was the first chapter. Later, it evolved into MBMA CORP., a name that held a special meaning – the initials of Steven’s children.
The year 1987 marked a turning point – MBMA CORP. became Spectrum Kitchens, a name symbolizing the vast possibilities they offered in crafting dream kitchens. While their initial focus was on kitchens, the passion extended far beyond. Soon, Spectrum Fine Cabinetry emerged, catering to the desire to create beautiful cabinetry for every room.
Today, Spectrum, a family-owned business with traditional values and over 40 years of experience, creates warm and inviting homes across all of the United States.

Sven
Sven’s gleaming, curved façade rises in Long Island City and reflects the heart of the neighborhood. Designed by Handel Architects, the tower’s 71 stories combine the beauty of clean design with remarkable environmental achievements. Sven is the tallest building in the US to achieve LEEDv4 Platinum Level Certification, the highest attainable level. Spectrum ensured all cabinets were made from no-added urea formaldehyde substrates, are free from harmful chemicals. Cabinets were independently tested for compliance with indoor air quality standards using the ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 Private Office method. All hardware were RoHS compliant, and the glues varnishes were Greenguard Gold Certified.
